About This Site

My name is Bethany Petr. Mspetr.org is the website I maintain for posting of announcements, materials, assignments, helpful links, and handouts for the classes I teach at Wootton High School in Montgomery County, MD.

Classes for the 2011-2012 school year include Computer Programming 1 (C++) and Designing Technology Solutions (DTS). Please note that the corresponding tabs for each of these courses will lead you to content posted for that class.

About Ms. Petr

I am (like you will be) a graduate of Montgomery County Public Schools (valedictorian, Paint Branch class of 1996).

Towson & UMBCMy educational background consists of a B.S. in Biology from Towson University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Towson University, and an M.S. in Information Systems from UMBC.

I started teaching right after college. My first few years were spent teaching 8th grade science at Francis Scott Key Middle School in MCPS from 2000 to 2002.

I taught a variety of science courses (Earth Science, Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science, and Astronomy) as well as a variety of Computer Science courses (Discovering Programming Concepts, Programming 1, AP Programming 2, AP Programming 3, and Website Development) at Paint Branch High School from 2002 to 2008.

I started teaching at Wootton High School in the fall of 2008. While at Wootton, I have taught the following Computer Science courses: Discovering Programming Concepts (Visual Basic .NET), Programming 1(C++), Advanced Web Tools and Digital Media, Software Applications by Design, and Designing Technology Solutions.
